B.Sc IT (Bachelor of Science) at Lovely Professional University (LPU) Distance: what the programme actually covers
The B.Sc IT (Bachelor of Science) offered by Lovely Professional University (LPU) Distance is a 3 Years distance programme built for learners who need a recognised B.Sc without leaving their job or moving to Phagwara, Punjab. The degree carries UGC entitlement and AICTE approval, so it holds the same academic value as an on-campus B.Sc for higher studies, government posts and private-sector hiring. Lovely Professional University (LPU) Distance is an established institution, operating since 2005, and its distance learners study through recorded lectures, live sessions, digital libraries and proctored assessments rather than daily classroom attendance.
Who this B.Sc suits
Admission generally follows the standard entry route for a B.Sc, so check your last qualifying marksheet before you apply. It fits three groups in particular: professionals who need the B.Sc credential for a promotion or a role change, graduates in Phagwara, Punjab and nearby districts who cannot relocate for a full-time seat, and learners returning to study after a career gap who need evening and weekend flexibility. Because the schedule is distance, the real commitment is weekly study hours rather than travel, and most students plan around 8–12 focused hours a week across the 3 Years.
Fees, instalments and what you actually pay
The published total for the B.Sc IT (Bachelor of Science) is ₹78,600 for the full 3 Years, which works out to roughly ₹26,200 per year. Lovely Professional University (LPU) Distance also supports instalments from about ₹4,100 per month, which is what most working learners use instead of a single upfront payment. Budget separately for examination and convocation charges, which sit outside the tuition figure. One rule applies to every programme listed on Parahi: pay your fee directly to Lovely Professional University (LPU) Distance through its official channels — never to us or to an intermediary.
Career outcomes after the B.Sc
Salary outcomes depend heavily on prior experience: freshers usually start in entry-level roles, while professionals use the B.Sc to move up within their current organisation. An distance B.Sc is most valuable when you pair it with demonstrable work — live projects, certifications and internal responsibilities all count more than the delivery mode. Lovely Professional University (LPU) Distance supports this through placement assistance, resume and interview preparation, and an alumni network that reaches employers well beyond Phagwara, Punjab. If you are comparing this programme with another university, compare the fee, the specialisation list and the accreditation side by side before you commit.
